Winter fun

It's pretty darn cold outside, yes I know it's winter so not many things to do outside. So for going out I'm putting on my warm cloths and fight the weather.



But what do to on this weather (and with the wind blowing trough my pockets)? Something fun of course, something to make me forget about the season.
So I took my tattooed friend DeeDee for an indoor photo session. Together with the photographer Alexandru Stefan Petre from PhotoStudioB we took some diversified theme photos, from pin-up, to smokey and gas mask. Here's what we have so far.

The winner was designated on the 28th of November but I noticed with a big dealy (2 days ago) and I was worried I may have lost it, but I just receive the email requesting my delivery details. So here's my precious Christmas present 

2nd round

I've been called for a second audition for the Shopping Queen  TV show Yeeyy!
We had a short talk, I received a few more details and I'm now among the last 100 competitors. Do you think I'll make it in the final 45? I hope I will...and who knows, I might also win the big prize if I get that far.
All good so far, I've even been told (by the director of the show) that I received one of the top scores... a great sign I'd say.
Well yeah let's not get over excited and wait for the next call.
Until then, keep on knitting cause it's going pretty well (I've already received 2 orders for the hats). Here's the last one I made (it's gonna be a present)

Blue winter

Lately I don't go out as much as I used to, but when I do...well I feel the urge to go bold, to mix and try new things. Here's a mix I recently tried, I hope you'll like it as much as I do.
I went for a short dress, a bit longer in the back and partially covered it with a thick blue sweater, perfect for this weather. I've accessorized it with a studded collar and a pair of over the knee socks (which I admit I missed for some time). I'm missing shoes in the picture but I can tell it was a pair of ankle high boots with some discreet studs on them.

Oh and a bonus, I've been called for a second talk for the fashion TV show, I'm thinking about using this same mix.

Somebody can knit!

Well what do you know, I can really knit. Now that the cold weather is here and everybody needs warm clothing items, I decided to try making a cap for my boyfriend....and I made it. I've spent most of the day on it, but he now has a warm winter cap.
I have to start working on a matching chunky scarf.

Role models

Up till now, I had two role models, two women who's clothing style I love and I some times try to imitate. Those two are Agyness Deyn 

and Kate Lanphear

But just now I found a new one, a 92 year old lady named Iris Apfel, which at her age demonstrates she can be more interesting than a 25 year old person. 
Of course she is a bit of an excentric, that's why I like her so much.

Flipster

Let's welcome a new clothing site in Romania, one where you can exchange your clothes with others, called Flipster.
I relay like the idea and I hope to use it soon, it sure comes in handy to freshen up your old wardrobe. Everyone of us should do this from time to time so what better alternative than this.

The casting and the snow

You may wonder what the casting and the snow have in common...well both things took place today.
I woke up, devastated my closet and picked up an outfit, something kind of suited for the weather and of course something that screams ME. I did not go with colors (even if I am much like a rainbow) because of the grey clouds (rain clouds I hoped). The meeting went well, hopefully I'll be one of the 45 selected girls (I must be considering my "exotic" look)

About the second one, well we had the first snow today and I can't say I was happy about it (I was wearing snickers and a leather jacket so I was caught off guard) but I survived.

Now let there be snow and fingers crossed for the TV show!

Regina cumparaturilor (Shopping Queen)

Well I'll be damned! I've just been selected at a casting for a TV show called Regina cumparaturilor (Shopping Queen).
The theme is of course shopping and fashion and I sure hope to be selected. I'm not keen on becoming a "TV star" but I do love fashion and all related to it, so let's see how it goes.

Close to Christmas

Here's a new DIY I tried, this one has nothing to do with my wardrobe, only with all the time I have to fill in and the little things I do.
It's a small Christmas tree made of carton, paper and pompoms (done by me also) and it took me about 3 days to finish. The harder part was filling the cone with the green paper, cutting it, shaping it and sticking it. Once that was done, I started with building the yarn pompoms and adding them on top of my tree.
And here is the result (with and without the pompoms)

Two more

As I promised, I made some more infinity scarves, 2 more. I used some thread I had around the house but for the next one I'm gonna buy some chunkier material, to make them even more impressive.
So here they are, a grey one and a red & white one (for the so close holidays)

In the meantime, I'm working on a little something very Christmasy (this time a little decoration, but it's taking longer than I expected)

Infinity scarf

I've been trying to fill in all this time that I have so I've had some DIY attempts. I think this is the best so far, a hand made Infinity scarf, knitted with only some chunky thread and my arms.
I'm already planning to make myself a collection of these and maybe also for others
So here's the result, hope you'll enjoy it.

I've stumbled over a Coke Zero application where you can create your own winter sweater design and of course I've entered the competition (I can't help myself).

Job hunting

Yesterday I've been to a job interview with Oracle (I did mention I am job hunting). I had some expectations but to be honest I'm not sure if it went well...we shall see, early next week I should have an answer on that.

But as a serious girl that I am, here's what I wear 

The leaves start wispering

I still have a lot of time to kill, job hunting isn't easy at all, even with 10 years of experience. But hey, I don't stop, I never give up and something good has got to come out of this...at some point.
Till then, I'm filling in my time with visits, yesterday I visited my girl Alinuta N. She's pregnant and in one moth tops we'll have a new friend around, her son. And every visit comes with cookies and popcorn, hopefully this will not do much damage to our shape.
And with all this time on my hands, I'm becoming active on Lookbook, which by the way it seams a bit hard to use (I already had 2 looks removed)...or maybe my mind is somewhere else (I tend to go with the second option). so yeah, I'm posting on Lookbook some of the looks that you'll see here, on the blog.

Back on track and a bag launch

Well guess what, I'm back!
I tried the exotic experience and decided that holiday life is not for me. Now I'm searching for a job and till then, I have to fill in my time with interesting stuff. So last week I went for a photo shooting at MNAC for the launch of a cloth bag with a Romanian traditional print. The bag is really pretty and you know I have a soft spot for traditional Romanian stuff so I can say it was a lot of fun.

Before the storm

I woke up this morning, all sunny and hot, as summer is supposed to be.
I picked a flowery summer dress, tied it up with a studded belt and matched it with my H&M sandals and  there you go! Took some pictures and went to work...guess what followed it? Black scary clouds and a heavy summer rain. Lucky I'm partially prepared but who cares about the rain in such a pretty dress?

A surviver

Big plans, big changes for the big adventure...I'm going away, far far away, destination : Tenerife, one way ticket. And for a warm place I'm only keeping the warm weather clothing. You can't imagine how hard it was giving up half of my closet, but I survived.

The Stretch prize

There's a new pair of leggings in town...oh well, in my wardrobe.
I won it this week from The Stretch and I must admit I had my eyes on this pair for some time, since I saw Dana at a fair a few months ago. So lucky me, now I have it :)

Memories and t-shirts

You know what's the best thing in social media networks? They bring people together, they bring back memories, they bring us back together.

Last month, at my sister's birthday, I encountered an old friend. I've seen some postings from her lately but now  we had the chance to talk a bit about this. She has always had a passion for fashion and for some time she has started to do something about this, her own t-shirts. 

I took a peak and I must admit I fell in love with her pretty creations, some lovely and smart t-shirts (just like her). And the best part...they aren't expensive at all

Cherries all over

Houdi! 

Did you worry about me? No need, but you can say some prayers  for my camera. It kind of bailed on me so I no longer have the main tool for taking pictures of my outfits. This explains my long break and I promise I'll work on fixing it. 

But meanwhile, I'll try to improvise, so here's a collage with the pieces of the day, all cherries, as I really do love these fruits and it's the perfect season for them.

All melons

A black melon hat and the Juicy yellow melon leggings, now this is a perfect match, melons all over.

Still expecting for the real melons, the ones you can actually eat, but hey, summer is closer everyday so not much till that moment comes. 

Rainy days

Two days with rain, a bit chilly but still summer I'd say.

So how do I deal with rainy days? Never give up on colors. 

And you know me by now, today I may adopt a 50's look, tomorrow I may go with a modern street style look

 And what do I do on rainy days? Don't stop, keep on going.

Juicy yellow melon

Remember my Biscuit leggings, the multicolored pair that I purchased on my birthday?

Well I could not help it and I got a new pair, this time with yellow melons and I totally love it. 

I got some small details, accessories to match and made myself a new bracelet for the same. I am proud to say that my bracelets have some success around my colleagues 

Finally Friday

Do you know how hard it is to get back to work after a holiday? After having one week off the mood for work is very close to zero, but somebody has got to do it. And what do you dream of when working? Weekend of course, and today the weekend begins, tonight to be more specific.

Switch

I need to start cleaning up my closet, the spring-summer clothes must see the sun...and I must decide which I'll keep and which not. And I will need to share my closet so yeah, we need a bit more space

Purple baby melon

Yeyy my purple baby melon is back! It was left behind in the past but a time traveler helped it come back to me.

Crazy story, right? Just making some facts look funnier, but bottom line, my first melon hat is back and I am soooo happy about this
