Bloody red winter

How are you my bubbly bubbles? Missed me? Well it's cold outside, you can call it winter already, and I'm sorry to say but I'm not really in the mood to getting all dressed up and pretty for pictures. I'm mostly dressing up comfy and I don't feel like going out for the nice images. So you'll see a bit less of me...but don't worry, I'm not gone for good. I'm just going to post less often.

I hope you won't miss me too much and keep following my blog.

Now getting back on track...Yes, this darn cold weather scares us all and we may not feel like getting pretty, but please be bold and wear strong colors. Don't let winter win! Let's start a war against cold weather, let's get strong and kick her ass off.
Here I am, kicking ass on a Monday, a cold snowy Monday (a few snow flakes felt down this morning). I am all prepared: strong bloody red winter. How about you?
Do have your hats, scarves and gloves ready for this fight? Not yet! Don't just stand there, get your cold weather pretty clothes and come out for this fight!

Is this French enough for you?

Howdy my bubbly bubbles!

I've never been a big fan of turtle beck sweaters, maybe because I had too many of these growing up, and mom made me wear them all winter long. Or maybe because Bucharest is warm enough in winter and I associated turtle necks with harsh freezing weather.
Now I decided to give it a try. I've noticed many people wear it and also it looks a bit ...Frenchy somehow (and yeah you know, I'll have a Parisian winter holiday, I must get in the right mood and wardrobe)
Here it is, my first turtle neck blouse in more than 10 years! Doesn't it look awesome? All black and tight, and short mmhhh...sexy right? When buying it, I pictured it with some statement necklace so I went for this big chain and red lipstick.

I must admit I'm turning into a fan!

So yeah, my advice for you is Give it a try! Give turtle neck a chance! Go even further and give a chance to any other item you don't like, you may be in for a surprise.

Buy it! Wash it! Brush it! Com it! Wear it!

How are you today my bubbly bubbles? I am good, warm an cozy due to my new fluffy blouse. Have you noticed how the '90's fashion is coming back in 2014? This sweater is definitely one from the '90's, and me, being a 90's child, I'm totally and completely into it.
And yes, the fluffy sweaters are back on track, it's time you purchase at least one (I already have 2). You will find these in almost all shops but my advice, try vintage and second hand shops. You may not find more than two it the same shop, and you may have to go on a treasure hunt, but you will find one of a kind items and (believe it or not) at a cheaper price, coming directly form the 90's with a time (washing) machine.

So don't be shy, get your vintage clothes from old fashioned, second hand shops.
My advice is to match such an item with an expensive one, the results may turn out to look better than you ever imagined.
If you are planing to do this, follow my instructions: Buy it! Wash it! Brush it! Com it! Wear it!

On a "first hand" note, do you remember me telling you about La cercei ? I promised you (and myself) I'll own something form them, so here I am: I am now wearing a blue necklace and the matching ring!

PS: I got my nails done (again), this time I'm "wearing" Tim Burton's Vincent , all thanks to the wonderful and artistic Sascha

This is it for today my sweet colorful bubbles! Now go out there searching for treasures!

Red lips for cold sunny days

Hello my  bubbly bubbles? Missed me? Here I am again, you know I never actually disappear, I'm just not constant.
These few days it felt pretty much like winter, we even had a few snow flakes, so I haven't really been in a pretty clothes mood. But we need to adjust to the weather and get back to looking good, weather is not an excuse for lazybones.
I'm getting ready for snow,my own way, with a new pair of red boots. And starting with the red boots, I must get some red clothes, of course (I need a shopping session to freshen up my wardrobe). And wearing one of the few red items I own, I remembered red is definitely the best color for me, so expect some readish outfits for this coming winter.

Now the task for today: What is the best color for you? What color best suits you? I'm sure you know what that is, make sure you don't avoid it (as I did for so long). No matter the season, you color must always be present in your wardrobe.

Little blue riding hood

How are you today my bubbly bubbles?
I am blue! No  no, not the mood, I'm ok with that, I'm just wearing blue.
Remember when I asked you about the star color in your wardrobe? Did you decide which is it?
Well I have some predominant neutrals in my wardrobe, but one of my star colors is BLUE! Since I was a kid I decided this would be my favorite color and every time I have to chose one, I go with blue.
So today I'm presenting to you one of my totally blue outfits (as you can see I have some blues that can be worn together but can also be matched with other clothes I own, and this is not all the blue I own)
And the advice for you: pick a star color for your wardrobe (or at least a star color for this season) and work with it. When you go shopping, think about it and buy items to match it, to complete it, to make it brighter, shinier, more classy or funnier.
Think about the item you already have (lets say a blouse) and get new items to go with it (pants, skirts, shoes, bags, jewelry)
Pick your color and find out what are the other colors that go best with it. When you go shopping, try to buy items in the matching colors and shades.

This is it for today, enjoy the rest of the day my bubbly bubbles!

PS: Most of the items in the above pictures are from SH shops. As for the rest, the socks are H&M, the shoes are my Doc Martens stars and the ring from Peaceful people handmade jewelry

Be naughty or nice

Howdy my bubbly bubbles!

Today I'll continue the discussion stared yesterday, about this autumn's color: Burgundy
Here are my examples for wearing it, two completely different ways.

The firs one, is a very bold option. a bit naughty and perky: a colorful pair of feathery leggings in matching colors (blue, green, yellow, red, white) and a see trough brownish blouse. I decided this sunny days requires a noticeable outfit

As for the second option, this is the nice one, the good child outfit. I went for (almost) all black, with a shirt topped by a vest and a pair of black simple leggings, spiced up a bit with the melon hat and a vintage brooch.

Both these outfits go great with the burgundy boots, so now you can see for yourself (trough my experiments) that the color can be paired with so many other colors, and in such different ways.

Also this is an example of how the same piece of wardrobe can be warn in two (or more) completely different outfits, and this goes for any item in your closet.

Now you should try 2 different styles for an item in your wardrobe, maybe a burgundy one also.
The decision is yours my bubbly bubbles, be naughty or nice!

PS: I have new nails made by the precious Sascha, you should pay her a visit

Burgundy spotted

Guess who's been spotted on the city streets! Me of course. Last week, a pretty young lady stops me on the street and asks me if I have time for a few street style pictures for the Romanian  news paper Adevarul...and the outcome is clear, I accepted. So my funny look and my new winter hat are definitely the center of attention

I bought the hat to match my Bordeaux boots, a color that is very much in trend this year. And of course I've started thinking "What else would match? What other colors match this trendy burgundy shade? "
Did you think burgundy is a hard matching color? Well you were wrong, here is a list with the matching colors:
 - Red
 - Black and White
 - Brown light shades, beige, creamy, caramel, mustard yellow
 - Pale orange
 - Blue
 - Green (especially army or forest green)
 - Grey
 - Pale pink
So as you can see for yourself, this color allows so many combinations, that it is starting to seam hard to pick your best suited option.

As for me, I'll  go for pairs with blue and pink, maybe some grey. I also have some army green and mustard yellow on my list , my shopping list (you caught me). And of course the obvious and easy to wear black
